The evaluation was not structured. Participants were asked to make general observation and comments about the workshop. Out of the possible thirty four (34) evaluation responses only seventeen (17) participants submitted their observations. Although this is slightly more than fifty percent of the participants from schools represented I will report all participants’ observation verbatim with very little changes where desirable. Evaluation report will also include recommendations from some clusters.

The following are what the seventeen (17) teachers said about the Social Studies results analysis workshop:

1. This workshop proved to be quite a blessing as it brought into lime light all the faults we made which hindered the achievement of better results. Again through the workshop we managed to discuss strategies which we will implement in order to improve our results. Generally the workshop was educational as it was inclusive of such concepts as the incorporation of e-learning into social studies subject. Through this all teachers were able to learn a lot. Thank you very much.
2. Attendance was good because most teachers were present except for two schools
· Objectives were achieved
· School came up with of issues and strategies which will help in the upgrading of performance.
3. Workshop was fruitful
· Participation was good
· Suggestion on days of workshop: One day to avoid teachers missing two days of their teaching
4. A fruitful workshop, though time was limited especially in areas like ICT integration and Social studies. The information should be relayed to other social studies teachers who did not attend the workshop and also to the schools’ administration.
5. The workshop was a success though there were a few hurdles. It gave participants the insight on how they can improve themselves, hence improve their service delivery. One of the hurdles was the blaming syndrome which has become synonymous with our society as it does not help us identify problem and solution but make us run away from the facts on the ground. I believe that as people we should find solutions instead of blaming one another. If we can overcome this we can then regard ourselves as a success.
6. The workshop went well, it was well organized because all the items in the agenda where attended to and the presenters knew their thing – that is they were not fumbling in what they were presenting on. I lent a lot especially on integration of ICT into social studies. Food was good and hygiene was evident as caters seemed clean even their utensils.
7. Workshop was very informative and should have continuity. I learnt not to shift blame but own up to my mistakes, turn misfortunes into opportunities of which from here will be practiced. I would like it if once in a while PEO’s can visit us in schools to see how we are doing out there. Even to sit for a meeting with the whole staff to hear about our strengths and weaknesses. We really learnt a lot shared information and strategies. Indeed it was a worthwhile and fruitful workshop.
8. The workshop went on very well. It had well set objectives to be achieved. Time management was taken into consideration. It was run according to the program. It involved group work formed by clusters. Individual teachers shared their experiences according to their performances. Some strategies on how to improve the results were identified, and shared on how to infuse ICT into social studies. The powers that be encouraged the implementation of the agreed strategies by all schools.
9. Good presentations. There was however less time for some questions. Materials were sufficiently provided.
· Food was Good
10. Content covered: The workshop covered important areas more especially strategies to improve results. These strategies can really improve results if implemented correctly.
· Workshop venue was congested and uncomfortable
· Food – very fine, but teachers needed to have been given a place to have their food
· Feeding area was not pleasing at all.
11. A very timely workshop. It was an eye opener on what is expected from us.
· It was revival, it renewed our motivation in our job.
· The presentation of ICT was however scheduled at the wrong time. It could have come early.
· Computers should have been availed for practice and interactivity
· Writing of ideas or action plan was necessary
12. I have gained a lot of information that I will use to produce better in my school and would also share this kind of information with my colleagues back at school. The information includes the action plans and strategies which we did not use before, which I think if implemented will uplift our school to produce quality results.
13. PEO’s should visit schools at least once a year to come and assess the teachers. This will help them know the strengths and weaknesses of individual teachers
· Analysis of social studies results is good in the sense that we are gaining insights on what we as teachers should do to produce good results.
· I recommend that it should be an annual event
· Next time look for a place with chairs that we can use during tea and lunch

14. The workshop was a success because it helped us to be accountable for our actions. During the workshop I learned that I should not put the blame on others for my failure and should try to improve on my weaknesses. The strategies that were presented by different clusters are important because they can help in improving the results in our schools. As individual we should use the strategies that are best suits us looking at the students that we have in our respective schools and try to improve were necessary.

15. Workshop was well attended though some schools did not show up for
unknown reasons.
· Schools owned up to the results and performance – Participants came up with strategies to improve results by “upping the ante” in as far as curricular delivery is concerned.
· Sound participation by participants in coming up with issues, implications and actions on addressing the organizational pains.
· Shared our experiences which will in turn make us better teachers.
· Food was catered for to avoid movement to and fro which may have disturbed time allocated to workshop.
· No accommodation given to participants from faraway and we hope the issue will be addressed.

16. It was fruitful, Encouraged teachers to do self inspection, Came up with new strategies
17. The workshop was successful, however the place or venue for the workshop was quite small. There were no chairs at the feeding area. Generally the information shared was quite useful to both teachers and hopefully to the learners.
18. Cluster
· Visiting Villages where many students come from
· Parents should be encouraged come with their children at beginning of term
· Fortnight quizzes
· Weekly submission of lesson plans
· Filling of monthly tests
· Team teaching/peer lesson observation
· Timely feedback to student work
· Use of standardized lesson plans
· Effective supervision

19. Action plans/strategies to improve results: Senior Schools

· Organize two cluster workshops
· Fortnight discussions within the department
· Bench marking to emulate best practices such as teaching methods, remediation and assessment.
· Establish a cluster examination committee to write items to the required standard for the benefit of all schools in the cluster
· Avail past examination papers to teachers
· Integration of ICT
